Velvet
Velvet is a first-person series of short stories about the character with the same name. The world is the same as ours except for the fact that magical creatures have lived among the human since the beginning of time. Velvet is a sorceress with the secondary power named "Know It All." Know It All allows Velvet to know everything. She knows everything about the past and even every event occurring in the present. Velvet even knows that she is a fictional character, but she would never tell. Every story is from Velvet's perspective even if the story appears to be in the third person.
Ivan Cassidy has been sentenced to an eternity of imprisonment in the basement of what used to be his home. He is bitter to the "heroes" of this story, the bounty-hunters turned advocates for supernatural creatures' rights and safety. It's Father's Day, and all Ivan wants to do is spend time with his wife, Lavendar, and daughter, Hyacinth. A gift from Velvet forewarns of danger to come.

Live the beginning of the tale. Velvet is released from prison in time to attend the wake of the late Katy Johnson, who was found dead just days before her high school graduation. Velvet meets Tyler Luna, Ace Gold, Sydney Rivera, and Ivan Evans. Unbeknownst to her, these strange characters would play an interesting part in her life. Tyler is determined to solve Katy's murder, the only clue, the two bite marks on her neck.
