West

5/2023

The Robin perches on the branch

And he looks back

At how far he’d come

He survived the Hawk

He escaped,

Barely alive

But he lived nonetheless

Now it was time to head home

He’d build a nest

He’d scour the ground for worms

Maybe he’ll even find a mate

Then he’d carry out the duty that every creature must fulfill

To live

To hunt

To feed

To provide

Though away from the circling Hawks

The Robin will still be in danger

Home is just as perilous

The place where the Wolves roam

Where they wait

To tear him apart
