Dusk

The sun sinks in the sky

As I reach the peak of the dune

I see the orange sun

As it disappears behind the distant horizon

The sky is a magnificent pink

The apricot sun glows bright

In the strawberry sky

I have reached my destination

This was where I was supposed to be

On the top of the sand covered hill,

Gazing off at the incredible sight of the world below

​

It is now that I see the fruits of success

After so many failures

I am here

Watching as the sky turn black

And the world turns dark

I am proud of who I am

I am strong as steel

I am free as a bird

Free from the darkness of the past

I am pure

​

It won't last, of course

As the night draws nearer

Midnight will come again

But for now

I stand atop the hill

The most powerful that I have ever felt

I am who I am meant to be

I will see my destiny through

I am steel

I am light

I am energy

I am free

But,

Most importantly,

I am happy
